New question here. 2001 Schwinn Moab Disc SL maximum travel?

good day mates, greetings from Singapore.

may i ask what is the maximum travel i can put up front on my moab? i have a 07 Reba Race which is rated up to 115mm, however i am not sure whether my moab can accomodate the additional 15mm as i am at 100mm now.

i have emailed Schwinn abt it, 1 week had gone by but they did not get back to me. was thinking of sending my fork for servicing soon and at the same time increasing the travel. i am not really keen on spending extra money to lengthen the fork again after i have done the servicing.

so yeah, trying to seek some help/advice before i proceed on my little project.

    more info on the moab:

    TIA.

Schwinn won't be getting back to you on that.

It says it came stock with a 100mm fork, so 115mm won't really change much. Give it a try and see if you like it. If not, shorten it up.

theoretically you can put a 7-8" dh fork on. for safety and frame integrity i wouln't go past 100mm/4inch's

yes'um...bought it in 2000 for a xc adventure (weighed 220#)...then used it as a campus cruiser during my college years (weighed 270#)...while getting my masters i turn it into the monster it is today (weighing in at 240#)...and she is now out in denver riding under a friend of mine's butt...approx 4k miles on it recorded most during the xc races and commuting...no cracks and still stiff...
