    Northwoods WI Trail Recommendations?

I'm going to be North of Wausau over the long weekend, and was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of must-ride trail systems anywhere between Wausau and Hurley and an hour in any direction East/West of that area? What are the favorites for this part of Wisconsin? And is there a local website that covers the region best?

Apologies if this has already been answered before, and if it has, feel free to post a link to that thread here!

    Thanks thanks thanks,
    --Mark

Wausau is only a little Up Nort'. I will be in Conover for the next week, that up north! You can see hte UP from there.

Must hit in the area you described: Nine Mile, Underdown, Raven, Washburn Lake, Smokin'Spoke.

Go to FatTireGuides.com for a good place to start on info. Directions to all of these places.

I am going a little further north. I will be taking a day trip over to Nicolet Roche. Are there any trails closer to where I am staying. See Map

Washburn and Raven are a must. I rode Washburn this weekend and it's awesome!! It's my kind of trail, very tight, very technical loads of rocks and roots. I need a more of a challenge then what most wide open trail have to offer. Great trail.

Rode Washburn and Smokin' spoke both for the first time last weekend. Both must-rides if near the Rhinelander area. Washburn is a great trail: tight and technical. You can't take your eyes off the trail. Lots of work being done there. Smokin' Spoke is a more open, still fairly technical. Over 1/2 of it has been logged recently and they have obviously done a ton of work to keep it open and in great shape. Nice scenery as well.
