    new 29'er beater bike

    the weather is pretty nice but i could not bear to bring my pristine GF Supafly out in the slurry. so scoured the LBS's and found this '07 leftover nugget for 500 bux today. it's just what the doc ordered. it will be abused, ridden in all weather and hung up wet. it's a lil' heavy but other than that it's sweet.
    i'll be riding by the time the ink dries on this post...

    i rode it for about 45mins. it was fun. i was wet, gritty and smiling when i was done.
    i have not owned a fully rigid mtn bike for like 2 decades. it's amazing how flick-able this thing is. even considering what it weighs. it's like point pedal and bam u are there. jumping snow banks was cool and u have to pay attention to sticking the landing w/o a suspension fork to save u.
    i may have to put a sweet carbon fibre fork on the Supafly and see how that feels...

    There is likely to be a G2 Bonty carbon fork.

    Heavy bikes just make you stronger.

    xtr levers truly transformed the brakes on this thing. holy shiznit. i could barely do a stoppie on it before and now it's 1 finger on your face power. wrah! Shimano XTR is like pure porn.

    XXIX=29 in roman numerals.

    Nice find though.
