John Muir and Emma Carlin total mileage?

I would like to know if anyone has tracked the entire length of Emma Carlin green loop, the connector trail, John Muir blue loop and back to Emma to finish the green loop. The DNR website gives 30 mi as the total but I was hoping it was further (it sure felt that way yesterday) Thanks!

Actually I think it is less than 30 miles. Maybe 27 or 28ish but it's hard to get a precise measurement. GPSs don't measure switchbacks accurately (tend to underestimate mileage), and if you still ride with a cyclocomputer, you need to make sure it is calibrated correctly for the tire pressure you are running (lower pressures give you a smaller tire diameter) or you may overestimate the mileage.
Warning: may contain sarcasm and/or crap made up in an attempt to feel important.

I don't remember the exact figure, but I think I've been getting slightly over 30 miles for that loop. Using a Garmin.

Thanks for the replies. I guess 30 mi is a good estimation.

I know this isn't what you are asking, but I know the Emma Green loop is 7.5 and the John Muir Blue is 12.1. That is based on my odometer. While I have ridden the connector, I don't know the distance.

I got 36 miles last time I did it, based on my cyclocomputer, starting from John Muir. However, I seem to remember more like 32-33 in years past. My 36 miles must include the practice loop at the trail head plus spinning around the parking lot and so forth.

GPS units are not very accurate for tracking milage, particularly on twisty singletrack, particularly under tree canopy. I wouldn't trust those numbers at all.

    I have a car. I made a choice. I ride my bike.
