    Trail riders in IL?

    Hello to all.

I just bought a new full suspension bike and I just want to check if there are people here riding around the trails in Illinois and if you can tag me along. I live in the northern part or Chicago. I'm a noob so please bear with me.

    Thank you.

What kind of rider are you; fast, aggressive, technical or non of the above? In the Chicago area you want to hook up with Chicago Area Mountain Bikers (CAMBR) for beginners they they have free mountain bike 101 clinics at Palos every Wed night check on the website there's all kind of info there. If you can make it tonight you'll have a good time, but remember to bring mosquito repellent.
If you're not falling, then you're not riding fast enough!

The MTB 101 clinic was last night and they also have a few through out the year. There is a Cambr weekly ride every Wednesday though at Palos as well.

Relax, where are you from? Im in Glenview.

I'm from chicago, btw.. I live up north. My bike's still with the LBS since they made a mistake in something. Hopefully, I will get it sooner than expected.

    When's the next group ride?

Rain or shine, we ride ( well I do) since all it does is rain. Come ride Bullfrog or Swallow Cliff. Fun single track at both.

Well I would encourage you not to ride singletrack when its wet enough to leave a rut.
Please respect the hard work that others put into the trail system.
last night 12 of us sat there when the rain broke out, no one went out. Instead we rode multitrack at Waterfall glen nearby...

PS I dont think there is legal singletrack at Swallof cliff..........?

All the trails are open at swallow cliff. I talked to a ranger there on a Crappydale. Its just that everone goes to Palos. Also, there are trails at 151st & Harlem that are fun to ride too. No, when its really crappy, I ride my roadbike, lately its been all the time.
