June 15 | OHIO State Championships At Chestnut Ridge

This is probably going to be the biggest XC race of the year. Who is all in? I am interested to see how bad the Pro's blow my doors off!

Check out the 331 website for the most up to date information
USA Cycling Ohio State Mountain Bike Championship : 331 Racing

    2013 OHIO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Stage #4 of the Ohio Power Series will host the USA Cycling Ohio State Championship race. Destined to become a classic and already a must attend event. The OPS's first stop in Columbus for 2013 is the second cross country race of the 14 event series which contains 6 XC races. A Central Ohio Mountain Biking Organization (COMBO) maintained trail and one of the newest trail system to hit the buckeye state. Chestnut Ridge is south east of the heart of the Buckeye Nation and is considered the first ridge in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains reaching 1050 feet above sea level and features several out croppings of ancient Blank Hand sandstone bedrock. Due to the central location and proximity to the state capital this is sure to become a destination trail for many central Ohio mountain bikers. The Chestnut Ridge XC consists of approx 8-10 miles of well managed trail that climbs and twists around black oak, pines and chestnut trees.

    * FYI: as events continue to grow we have raised the day of race registration simply to encourage pre-registration. This enables us to prepare food orders, swag purchases and ensure accurate start times and avoid delays due to data processing of late participant entries. Pre-reg also gives us a direct line of communication in the event the race is delayed or canceled though the event email system.

See the 331 website to register (registration will be open soon).

Old folks start behind young'ens? What's the timing between age groups? Gonna be tough to pass unless poison ivy isn't a concern.

To answer your question, splits will depend on how large classes are and total entry numbers and will be decided as race nears or on race day. We try to place the faster ages first so young'ens are not necessarily first.

The race is now one week away! The trail is in AWESOME condition with more single track and the flow has been vastly improved from last year. COMBO has been working their butts off on it and it shows. Get your practice laps in this weekend then start your peak for the race!

    See you out there.
