    Indiana University Mountain Biking Club

An announcement to any IU students and Bloomington area mountain bikers:

The IU Mountain Biking Club held the first meeting of 2009 tonight and here are some of the things brought up for anyone interested.

-Spreading the word (i.e. this post and other methods)
-Organizing a hands-on bicycle maintenance workshop
    -Scheduling weekly rides
-Maintaining and mapping Wapehani mountain bike park
-Communicating and interacting with local bike shops
    -Organizing a movie night
    -Building ties with the community

If any students want to get involved or anyone in the surrounding area has any advice or would like to help, send me a PM. We hope to be much more active this semester and appreciate any help in really getting this club up and running.

I'm in the IU Mountain Bike Club, but heard nothing of the meeting until after the fact. Was it announced through emails?

Anyway, I'm in for more involvement this semester. Group rides would be excellent and I'd be happy to volunteer for some trail work.

Is the next meeting time/place planned yet?

There is no next meeting planned yet. The meeting had been announced through the email but there seem to have been problems. We are trying to keep updates going through the email and facebook group.

The facebook group is here- http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gi...4972272&ref=ts

Put something up on HMBA site too.

I'm assuming you're familar with 'em. If not, good group to work with. Lots of (semi) locals that can give advice and the like.

Thanks for that, I saw it. We actually have one of our members as the moderator of that forum. I'm still having problems with my e-mail verification for some reason.

harry2110- no racing, just a riding club. IU cycling does all the racing.
