64 miler bikecamping trip (Dayton, OH) - Bust

Figured I'd post it, next weekend 5/25 - 5/27 I plan on doing a ride from Eastwood Park to Caesar Creek State Park for a bikecamping training trip if anyone wants to do a group-ride. I'm a slow rider though, avg speed at the moment is 5 mph on the bikepath (asphalt). 64 miles round trip.

The weather outlook so far is that it'll probably be raining next weekend as well if the forecast continues as it is.

Friday: ETD from Eastwood: 18:30, ETA at the park: 01:00
Saturday: MTB trails, swimming, whatever.. relaxing
Sunday: ETD: 12:00 from park, ETA to Eastwood: 17:30

If you're truly averaging 5mph (a slow jogging pace), it'll take you over 12 hours to cover 64 miles.

6 hours there, 6 hours back roughly (32 miles each way). Although Sunday morning, I was able to do a 28 miler in 3.5 hours, so either it was all downhill, or I'm starting to get a little bit in shape.. one of the two.

Didn't realize that this weekend is memorial weekend, so it looks like i'll be able to do friday - monday

Should be a good trip, as long as I don't make a wrong turn again and wind up in Columbus rather than Cincinatti...

    Don't ask :P

Well, the trip was a bust unfortunately, and ended up instead of 32 miles there, to 43 miles - Visitor center != Campsite registration area. Then all of the camp sites were filled due to it being a holiday weekend.

Couple of cool stories heading there, painful stuff heading back - I've been used to doing ~50 - 60 miles roundtrip, this one ended up being 85 miles roughly. I'll have a trip report in my blog over the course of the next couple of days since it's nothing really magnificent and mtbr post worthy.
