The Palos Meltdown is Chicagoland’s premier mountain bike event. With racing for all ages and abilities this event draws riders from all over the region. In it’s fifth consecutive year, the Meltdown is held as a fundraiser for CAMBr to help build and maintain mountain bike trails in Chicagoland.
The race is held on Palos Forest Preserve’s extensive singletrack trail system just half an hour outside of Chicago. The trails are flowy, fun and built with all levels of rider in mind.
The event strives to keep a fun family atmosphere while providing a both challenging and fun race experience for first timers to the seasoned elite athlete. For 2013 we have changes planned to help further raise the level of fun and racing excitement!
Comcast Cares Day at Andres Park on 4/27/13 - Carpentersville, Illinois
Come join CAMBr for the COMCAST CARES sponsored workday at Andres Park on Saturday, April 27th.
With an estimated turnout of around 150-200 volunteers under our control, we are in need of 20 individuals who will direct groups of 10 people each. Work activities are going to range from trash pickup, invasive removal, skill park development, and trail clearance. Film crews will be on site to document the days activities, so we're looking to give CAMBr a very positive representation!
Registration on the Comcast site gets you a shirt, coffee and snacks, and a box lunch afterwards.
**Note: If you do not want to signup using your Facebook account, send an email to andrespark@cambr.org with your participant names and shirt size, and we will pass the list manually to Comcast to register you. Comcast has confirmed that we can do this.**

Just a reminder the Sub-9 Schooner Shakedown will take place NEXT SATURDAY, May 18, as part of the IMBA Great Lakes Regional Mountain Bike Summit at Brown County State Park (Nashville, IN).
The Sub-9 Schooner Shakedown is an individual, time-trial, point to point race. Racers will compete against a clock while additional time bonuses are awarded for clearing the most difficult obstacles along the course. The 2013 course will feature a technically demanding, 3-mile section on the double-black diamond, Schooner Trace mountain bike trail. Riders will encounter natural rock outcrops combined with hand placed rock work to challenge even the most experienced - with plenty of penalty for failure in these hard-to-access ravines.
Racing action begins at 5 p.m. All the details about the race can be found at www.schoonershakedown.com or check out all the summit details below!
