The DH course has a good mix of fast sections with some very technical parts mixed in.

Event Details: If the great course was not enough there is free onsite rough camping, bonfires Friday and Saturday night, a live band under the stars on Saturday, food after the race, prizes from local shops and race sponsors, and much more.

Because of liability issues the land owner prefers that riders who are not members of the chain reaction cycling club don't ride on the trails. Every Tuesday there are group rides out at the trails when non members can come out and ride. If you want to be a member it's only $15 to join the club and it's pretty much a donation for trail work, race fund, etc.

BTW Platteville is really starting to become a destination for riding if your interested in just heading down this way for a weekend. We have 6 miles of single track out at the fritz farm 10 miles of trail out at the Hirsch farm where the blockhouse is going down and we got another trail system we are working on at a ~150 acre tree farm all within a few miles of Platteville. It's not always perfectly mowed and cut in the summer time but it's still nice to have 3 places to ride. Just stop at the local shop for all the info.

See you at the 2008 Blockhouse Roll !!!!

    Quick race upadate

We secured a super cool band for Saturday night after the race. Check them out at their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/riverandthetributaries

The DH course is looking really good for the downhill on Sunday. Check out a pic of the new bridge on the blog.

The UWP Cycling club should be out with extra hamburgers, brats, and the like, if your post race burrito is not enough.

Check out the blog if your interested in preregistering or more details. Remember you save some $ by preregistering.

Hey. I;m going to be headed out to the DH race sunday with a some friends. One of them is going to do the race as of now, but I was wondering if I could ride the course before and after the race. I would race, but I'm not very competetive, just wanna have some fun. Thanks

Thats fine if you take it a little easy. We are pretty laid back about everything. For this event we dont send another rider till the previous rider has cleared the course. It is a little slower but much safer for all the riders plus it takes presure off the slower riders. We do require that everyone riding the course be registered for the race. Everyone will need to sign a waiver and have their # plate on while riding.

    See you on Sunday!!!
