Many people are not aware yet that Michigan has started a scholastic cycling program, the Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association (MiSCA). The purpose is to form cycling clubs in area schools where possible and also to offer a fall racing league. Clubs may be formed by schools, bike shops and youth organizations, or individuals.

We started in SE Michigan last fall and are expanding across the state this year. We have a five race schedule for this fall, culminating in a state championship where at least $2,500 in college scholarships will be given away. We have already signed up clubs from as far north as Petoskey, in addition to the Detroit area.

To find out more information and how you can join or start a club visit the MiSCA website.
