    Mentor ohio for job training

Going to be in Mentor, OH for a month, I'm originally from Long Island New York and will be bringing my mountain bike down there. I will have a company car so 30 mins of traveling isn't that big of a deal any trails that I should check out?

Looks like Mentor is about 10 miles west of the trails at Atchison/Hogback Ridge, a Lake Co. Metropark.

Lake Metroparks - Hogback Ridge Park

You're going to want to access the trails at the top, off of Warner Road, about 500 ft east of Bates Road - look for small parking area on the south of the road. Don't have a trail map - but it's not so big that just exploring would be a problem.

Probably the Ohio & Erie Canal trails are in range too, but that's only like 3 miles long.

And here I was going to say that this probably isn't the forum for OJT recruitment

There is a Mentor, OH? From swampboy's post, is it up near lake eerie?

    Yep. Northeast of Cleveland.

It is a bit of a hike, but if you are staying a month in Mentor, at some point make the trek down to Mohician. The drive should be a bit over an hour, but well worth the trip.

From one flat land to another.

Mentor is pretty much right on the lake

Royalview in North Royalton just opened back up today

bout a 30 to 45 min drive from Mentor

as mention the erie canal as well. our highways arent congested so travel should be easy

Two words: Vultures Knob. In Wooster, about 45 minutes from Cleveland.

I would recommend Royalview or West Branch State Park in Ravenna (trail should open around the 3rd week in May). Both are great but very different.

If you can swing the longer drive, going to Vultures Knob in Wooster, or Mohican State Park in Loundonville would be worth your time. If you aren't afraid of climbing, Mohican is 25-ish miles of excellent flowing singletrack with great views. Arguably the best trail in the state of OH.

Our Corporate HQ is in Mentor, never traveled with my bike though. Might have to check in to that next time.
