    Black Flies

How bad are the Black Flies in the Marquette area right now?

No problem at all w/black flies. I just did one of the South Marquette trails (the Pioneer Loop) on Monday evening, and I had no real problems w/bugs at all. If you stop and stand, you will get some mosquitoes, but that's it.

IMHO, August and September are two of the best months up here in terms of not having to fight off the bugs.

Jonathan, When are you Munising folks going to come over and ride with us in Houghton?? This spring Scott (from Munising or the little burb to the east) claimed he was going to bring a group over :-(

I really would like to see your trails. Hard to find the time though. Even Marquette is a rare treat for me, and that's only 45 miles away.
