    Batavia / St. Charles Trails?

Does anyone know of any good trails besides crushed limestone or paved ones in this area? Or even in the Chicagoland Area/ North Eastern Illinois in general? We've been going to Palos, and Kettle is a little far for us and we're looking for something new. Also, if anyone knows of any good places for freeride or downhill near here, let me know!

just because of the nature of the region, freeride and downhill just aren't going to happen locally. Ray's is going to be your best bet for aggressive riding. Seven Springs in PA maybe the closes lift-accessed DH that I'm aware of.

Northern Michigan has some lift-accessed trails as well.

The geology in northern IL doesn't really support it.

Saw Wee Kee in Oswego has more technical terrain than Palos. Way less distance though. CAMBr is working on two new sites that may be of interest though. Beulah Park in Zion has features and is being developed. The other is Andres Park in Carpentersville which has features and other trails that you will not find at Palos. The CAMBr website has more information on these. CAMBr - Chicago Area Mountain Bikers

There are a few short loops off the FRT in Faybian and the IPP in Wayne.

Definitely check out Saw Wee Kee. Even though SWK is only about 5 to 7 miles in total length, it requires as much effort to cover 15-20 at Palos. There is good riding at SWK.

Rachelnoelle1- there are great trails in the chi-town area. Palos hills forest preserve for one and is actually #1 as far as im concerned and its also considered Chicago lands jewel of mtb. That's where I go and its awesome for all levels of rider. Great single track not a lot of yups and few prirate tracks. Check out
