    Trails near Flippin/Mt. Home Arkansas??????

I am going to be spending some time near Flippin Arkansas which isnít far from Mountain Home. Are there any good trails nearby or within 50 miles? I really want to bring my bike and thought that I remember hearing that there are some good trails in the area.

    Thanks!

Thanks scoutcat. I now remember reading about that trail a while ago. Think I will hit it, and may try to go to Devil's Den, Oak Ridge and Hobbs. Any idea if they are worth the trip? Oak Ridge is very close, but the other two are 2 hours away from where I will be.

Check out Lake Leatherwood just outside Eureka Springs. Should be less than a two hour drive from Flippin.

I think Devils Den is still closed. It got pretty tore up from the rain and flooding we had in April. ETA was late summer last I heard.

    Thanks All!

I have not had much time to look at the info for Pigeon Creek but did notice that the trails are pretty short. Is it pretty easy to put them together for a longer ride? Also, I saw that there was some sort of race at Syllamo not long ago. I guess the brush grows fast. To be an IMBA epic I figured that it would be well maintained. Is it just a lack of riders in the area?

yep. there are dedicated folks that do a lot of work there but some live in little rock and others in TN... competitive cyclist sponsors a work day there every year too.

Just west of Eureka Springs. There was a race there a couple weekends ago so the trails should be in good condition. I'd be happy to show you around if you can give me a heads up on when you are coming.

Thanks for the offer. That is a good ways from our cabin near Flippin, but I will talk to the other party and see how far they are willing to travel, and let you know. The trails near Norfork are the closest, and it sounds like they should be ok?? What are the Norfork trails like? I have a single speed but it sounds like I should bring my geared squishy. We will not be there until September so I assume undergrowth will still be an issue at Syllamo. Anybody have any thoughts on that? I really appreciate everyoneís response to my questions, and I look forward to riding some Arkansas dirt.

Cool. Not sure if you saw, but we will not be up there until the first week in September.
