    Cabin near Syllamo

Looking for some guidance please. We're planning a spring break trip at the end of march (family of 4) to ride syllamo. Can anyone recommend a good cabin rental that's not too far from the trail (within 5 miles)??

Originally planned to camp at the campground, but don't think we'll have room for all the gear in the car.

    Thanks!
    whatever...

I stayed at the Smith Cabin as well as couple of years ago. It was excellent. A bedroom downstairs and bathroom. The upstairs had a couple of beds and a bathroom. There was also a deck with a few of the river. It is not very far from the trails. I would like to go back again, trails and cabin. Hope you get to go and have a good ride.

Thanks guys. I took the advice and we have Sarah's Hilltop cabin on reserve. Now hoping the weather holds!

I know it's not a cabin, but I would recommend the River View hotel, River View Hotel, Calico Rock, Arkansas, since 1923. We stayed there last year while visiting the area. We know Linda and Mark. Both good people. Lots of knowledge of the local area. Reasonable rates. The rooms are rustic, but very comfortable.

They made their kayaks available to us (and with pick up and drop off service). That was a lot of fun.

so the weather's looking dicey...maybe some rain while we're there. question is: how does Syllamo recover after some rain? dry out quickly, or take a while?
    whatever...

It's fine to ride after a rain, but just know that the rocks will be incredibly slick when they are wet. As in, if you see a wet rock, treat it as if that's a layer of ice and not water.

No, the weather didn't cooperate so we went to fruita co instead which was guaranteed sunny and 70. Next year maybe. Unfortunately I walked away from a deposit on the cabin, but I guess it's only money!!

Oh well heck, you can't complain about that. I'd think the bookcliffs woulda been perfect for taking the kids.
