OOOhhhh ya!! We added the single speed to last year's BBB III. Only had 6 or 7 race so the more the merrier!! Bethel is a perfect ss course. Not a lot of hills the ones we do have you can get a nice run at em' before the climb. It has nice rolling rythem.

I ride 32:18 on a 29er... you could probably get away with 32:16 on a 29er if you're in shape... which I'm not...

I ride 36:16 at the Spillway mostly but have ridden the Bethel trails as well at that ratio.

If your racing and in decent shape, 36:16 should give you a edge.

I like 36:16 above all, I spin too much in less than 2:2. It's flat enough here in the south to get away with it.

Race Course Description: The course starts with a ¾ mile drag race down 426 to South Bethel taking you back to the trailhead (GREEN LOOP) where you jump into tight single-track through Briar Patch/clear cut, then onto Couch along the river & through dense old growth (RED TRAIL out). After the “infamous clay climb” spits you out onto the fast & sweeping turns of Badlands (fan viewing area) (BLUE TRAIL back). (BEGINNER/CAT 3) 1-FULL lap. (SPORT/CAT 2) 2-laps & (EXPERT/CAT 3) 3-laps exclude 426 drag race GREEN LOOP on laps 2 & 3.

www.SCRCS.net for flyer & course map

The course is flagged & arrowed with course marshals at strategic areas.

The weather is going to be cool in the 50's & breezy here on the beautiful MS Coast this Sunday. If it does rain Saturday the trails drain very well & will be in fine riding condition.

SEE YA @ THE BBB IV!!! HOPE YOU ARE READY FOR SOME FUN IN THE DIRT??
