completely unfamiliar with Noxubee or the surrrounding area. how technical is this race? Any rocky portions like the Ouachita Challenge?

    Sorry for the late reply!!
There is only one small section of rocks, very little sand. Hard packed clay, till it gets wet, then it's slippery as owl sh@*..
Just fast flowing single track through dense forests.
The biggest challenge is the many climbs (switchbacks) and to not hug a tree on a downill section.
This year, if it is raced CWW, then there will be lots of downhill sections.
    Hope this helps?

I looked at the website the other day, and it looks like there will be two 25 mile laps with no repeat sections. I have never been to the refuge, but is there really that much trail there? Either way, I'm looking forward to a lot of pain and a great day of racing.

There's a lot of trail there, I hope I can finish this year. Cramped out last year.

    Cooliopoof.
This is the Noxubee Hills Trail System, located inside the Tombigbee National Forest.
The Noxubee Refuge is east of "The Nox"
There is almost 30 miles (mostly single track) of trails out at The Nox.

I registered last night and have done the race the last two years. Itís two 25-mile loops with the second loop being slightly different than the first loop. The trails are fast and flow great without a ton of climbing (3400í), itís put on by a great group also
Here's my Garmin Connect from last year, I think there is some new singletrack this year though

Less than a month left to prepare
Orange directional arrows going up along the course now. Come in for a pre race ride anytime. Will also keep a couple jugs of H2O at the South Trail Head (CP1/3) so riders can refill a bottle.
    Are y'all ready?

I'm getting pumped for this race. Just a finisher not a competitor but I like having the "race" excuse to take a road trip to try something new. Have no idea what I'm in for. The 3400 ft of gain mentioned above, is that one lap or two?

I missed the Garmin details at first. I see the 3400 ft of gain was for both laps but the elevation correction was disabled. Never know what to think with a GPS elevation reading. I'm bringing my best regardless. Is this event going down Rain or Shine? I hope Isaac stays clear of the Nox.

Excellent race as usual, the trails were in absolutely perfect shape, payout and awards were great. It was a tad bit humid out on the course though!
