    UP riding in late October

I'd like to get up to the UP (Copper Harbor area) to mountain bike yet this fall, but won't be able to make it up until the last week in October. Is that time of year generally good riding yet based on weather, is there any conflicts with hunting seasons, any other potential issues with visiting the area that time of year??

    Copper Harbor

Weather dependent but the riding is still great in the Harbor thru October (or until the snow flies). Leaves will be down and you'll pretty much have the trails to yourself, but its still great riding. There's not much conflict with hunting on the main trails because they are so close to town and butt up to the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge plus traverse some conservancy properties. Other trail systems to hit up would be Michigan Tech (no hunting), Churning Rapids (conservancy mostly) and Swedetown (there is some hunting activity here). Enjoy!

    Thanks for info!

Thanks for the great info. on Copper Harbor area. Weather will always be iffy at that time, and I plan to pack road bike and x-country skis as well to have bases covered. Thanks again!
