    Trails in Ludington?

Are there any good trails in Ludington area? I will be going there on vacation after July 4th and staying at the state park. I went to the Trailhead bike shop website and they have some information, but not a lot.

Just north of Ludington, you can hit up Big M. The Manistee NCT trails are some great riding. I think it's maybe 20-30 mins north. Go check out mmba.org for some more info....lots of MI riders there. http://www.mmba.org/trail-guide

Carb has you pointed in the right direction...

Big M is a series of loops that you can mix and match until you're pooped. Plenty of climbing and decents. It is located in the Manistee N.F. and is East / Northeast of Ludington. 30-40 min to get there. Here is a good map:

The North Country Trail (NCT) is part of a 4600 mi multi-state hiking trail that traverses the Manistee N.F. Much of it is open to bikes but not all. You can pick different sections and ride and out-n-back. From Ludington, you can start at the Timber Creek trailhead (east on US10) and ride north and back. Alternatively lots of people like Dilling to Marilla section north of M55. The Manistee F.S. does a great job with their maps of the NCT.

I'll be riding the 4th weekend up there. I'm a clyde and ride aprx 8-10mph, 12 -20 miles depending on the terrain. PM me if you want to connect and ride.
