Poto has been my favorite. The downhills were so much fun! The trails were marked pretty bad tho.
I rode torn shirt and murray lake last weekend and I had a blast.
Someone mentioned that every rider needs a trail like this once in a while and well... it hit the spot.
The 3 closet trails to me are tree farm ILRA and maybury, which get boring really quick.

Having a 29er helps a lot with the roots.

I would not agree with the statemnet: The downhills arent fast.
They are extremely fast and can be dangerous.
The diff. about TS compared to other trails is YOU ABSOLUTEY have to take clean lines up and down the hills.
I only got stopped on 2 hills this weekend. and Both were due to shitty lines were my tire slid off roots and broke all of my momentum.
I would also agree that TS is harder than poto.

But man... Murray lake is got to be my favorite trail right now.
    So invigorating....

Anyway whoever in this thread is *****ing about TS you're right its not fun unless your jacked up, eager, havent had sex in a few weeks, or angry... oh or you need a challenge or want to better yourself as a mtb'er.

Look at it as a video game:
When you play pokemon and you lose the battle you still gain Experience points.
When you Ride TOrn shirt and tear your shirt and **** your self you gain experience.

Last year Torn shirt tore me a new a hole, this year it was 60% me 40% TS
Next year Im kicking that F'ers ass

If you guys like Torn Shirt you have to try the East Loop ("Grubers Grinder") at Holdridge, a bit north and east of Brighton. Good old school fall line gut busting trail but not heavily traveled so there's less sand and erosion than at TS, Poto, etc.
