Coupla friends and I went up to the UP for a weekend of lifts and camping. We've been up before and knew where we were going and what to expect, or so we thought. 85deg in September in the UP? Dusty trails? Friendly locals? Beach volley ball under the lifts on Sunday? Keeweenaw Brewery (technically not Marqueete, but close enough!)? DUDE, awesome!

Every so often you get to discover life's simple joys. Riding bikes down but not up is definitely one of 'em, and is often best when shared with a pair of good friends, on great trails, and beer at the camp fire after the ride. Super special thanks goes to one of the lift operators who ran back to the tool shed for a drill and bolt so we could fix a seat post. Definitely the fastest parking lot hack job/fix we were ever to perform to save a day (who wants to rip down Gypsy Road sans seat?).

Thanks again, Marquette, for keeping the trails open and supa fun, the lifts running, and not being populated by buncha dolts. Sooo totally made a great weekend. Now, I just need to figure out what jobs are available up there...
