    Riding near Flint?

I'm spending the next week in Flint, MI with the in-laws (visiting from Tucson) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for rides close to Flint. May be able to get to Potowatomi, etc., but any closer suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks- Evan

Go to mmba.org, click on the trail guide (http://mmba.org/trail-guide), and you can search within however many miles you want from the zip code you will be in. I used to live 10 mins east of flint and the Holdridge trail is pretty nice - lots of log piles (http://mmba.org/index.php?option=com...task=trail&cid[]=14). Holdridge is only about 20 mins from Flint, all expressway.

I know live very close to the Poto trails. Poto is great, but I think Brighton is even better.

    Poto: http://mmba.org/index.php?option=com...task=trail&cid[]=18

    Brighton: http://mmba.org/index.php?option=com...task=trail&cid[]=12

Pontiac Lake is good too, but a different direction south (closer to detroit) than Poto and Brighton which are right next to each other: http://mmba.org/index.php?option=com...task=trail&cid[]=19

It appears none of my links worked. Just go to the trail guide on mmba.org and you'll find all the trials I mentioned, and more.

The trails outside Holly, Holdridge, is pretty good. The East loop is called the "Grinder", lots of up & down the first half, 7-8 miles. I have never ridden the whole 2nd 1/2, but it is a little easier what I have ridden. The trail is about 15 miles total. There is also the west loop, which is a decent trail.

If you ride the road also, there is a road ride this Sat in Fenton, 15k, 50k, or 100k. Also the 16th in Swartz Creek, the Assenmacher 100. Multiple miles from 20 miles up to 100!
