North Country Trail, Marilla trail head and Big M

I have riden the Marilla trail a couple times now, and it is sweet, best trail I've ridden in MI so far, kills the Vasa and the State Hospital trails in TC. Been thinking about checking out the Big M, any ride it, how does it compare to Marilla?

the mapping of the trails and the area is shotty, and since its state land the DNR knows nothing of the trails and is no help. thinking about photoshopping maps to come up with something usable, if anyone wants, I'll post it

Don't forget to try Udell Hills portion of North Country
which is right down the road from Big M.
I like it a bit more than Marrilla.
28 miles out and back that is a blast.

I've only ridden Big M once and that was last week at the race.
It was a bit hillier than Udell but that's fine by me.

Udell Hills is not a loop is it? does it have hills like marilla, those downhill cruises rock and the climbs are not bad at all, well worth the rewards in fun dewscents

    heading to Boyne Highlands Thursday

    It's an out and back.
    14 miles out
    14 miles back
It's my favorite long training ride.

It's not as hilly as Merrilla.
The first couple miles are hilly then it flattens out
    with smaller rollers.

Don't forget when doing Merrilla to cross Beers Rd. and continue to do the next 6/7 miles.
