    Iceman Cometh

I looked at the pictures from last years race and there wasn't any cyclocross setups...has anyone ever ran this with a drop bar set up?

Sport division was won on a CX bike

A riding buddy won the sport division last year on a CX bike. He stated that some of the downhills had a pretty high pucker factor, which means something as he is an expert downhiller...

Your call, just be prepared for some moments if you run the skinny tires.

It depends on the weather too. If it's decent this year, CX it. If it's icy/snowy like a few years ago then maybe go for an XC bike.

Or if it's dry you want a mtb to accomodate a little wider tire. If it has rained alot the week of, and there is no snow, I think a CX set up would be very competetive. But only if a CX bike is something you ride quite a bit.......

I rode my M.C.R.9, My first ICEMAN, it was a lot of fun. I know how to train for it next year. To start with I plan on not braking ribs in mid August, off the bike and work for 5 weeks.
