Glen Arbor Michigan Trip - Worth bring my mountain bike???

Family planned a vacation for me to Glen Arbor Michigan. Missing some a race or two so hoping to find some good trails up there. Is there anything there that makes it worth bring the mtn bike along? Not looking for the crushed gravel 10 mile loop. If so let me know and how far. Otherwise I guess I'm going to have to resort to bring skinny tires.

You'll could head to head to Vasa, Arcadia, Betsie River, Lake Ann. Not all are not that close, but within an hour. You'll need to drive to the trailheads as they are too far from Glenn Arbor. Or someone could drop you off. You can make a few hours of either vasa or Arcadia if you get dropped off. If someone does that for vasa, they can go hang out for hours in Traverse City. For Arcadia, they can head to Frankfort and hang while you ride. Awesome little town.

Try the trail guide on the mmba site:

Arcadia is worth the hourish drive.

Lake Ann is fun but short.

Vasa singletrack is spectacular if not only for the scenery.

    Betsie River is also short.

Aside from biking, Glenn Arbor is awesome as is all of Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula.

Eating in Traverse City area is fun.

Arcadia will make you work harder than the vasa will, it's a lot hillier and has some sandy sections, over all it's a fun trail. Vasa is fun and fast with some tight sections but is mostly flat. There's a lot of potentially great places to ride around glen arbor but they are almost all illegal

    Guys (or gals),

Appreciate the info. Was told by the family vacation planner that there was mountain biking close but was hoping for a 10 minute ride out the door.

May consider skinny tires. Are the road suitable or will I be fearing for my life if I go out for a 30 mile ride?

If you were going to Glen Arbor which bike would you bring? I'm a guy that doesn't like to spend too much time driving and not swayed by a dining choices. I'm happy with a cliff bar.
