    Copper Harbor lodging/cabin rental

We have a group coming to Copper Harbor to do some riding. We would like to rent a cabin for the weekend. I did some searching and didnt come up with much. I was wondering were most people stay in that area. Thanks Bob

Depending on how rustic/secluded you want to be, the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge has cabins. The Mariner North has cabins in town as well.

Bella Vista Motel also has some little cabins.
There's a cabin at Fort Wilkins.
    And if its available: http://sites.google.com/site/copperharborcabin/

There's very few VRBO's/houses available up there.

Call the Pines restaurant. They have a bunch of cabins we've stayed in over the last few years. The ones we've had were 2 bedrooms with full kitchens and living rooms. They are right on the main drag across from the general store and a two minute spin to the singletrack. As I recall they are very well priced too.

Unless you are looking for cheep, I would stay away from the Bella Vista cabins. They are... cheep with an over abundence of air fresheners.. Pines is good with the rooms having an enclosed porch that's good for bike work and such. I haven't tried their cabins though. Mariner has nice cabins and rooms on the back side with nice porches for bikes and hanging out. The Keweenaw Mtn. Lodge has older but nice cabins and the trail runs right by em. Its all down hill from there :^)

When you heading up that way?

Thanks for all the advice. I checked out the cabin in Fort Wilkins and it is booked for the weekend we want to come. July 23 weekend.

Where would you guys suggest for a hotel? That might be better for us because we will probably be going out to eat and wont use the kitchem.

Is there any thing going on the weekend of July 23rd?

    Thanks Bob

The Pines has a motel with a nice closed in porch and the Mariner also has motel rooms that are good for bikers. Both have restaraunts and are within walking distance of others. You should find out if there is anything going on on the above web site.

    Lodging

Don't write off staying down in the Houghton/Hancock/Calumet area as a base for riding. There are 4 great trail systems (100+ miles of singletrack) within an easy 45 minute drive: Michigan Tech, Churning Rapids, Swedetown and Copper Harbor.
