I'll be 39 by the time Michigander kicks off on July 17th. This is my first organized ride of anykind, ever. I've been riding off and on since I was a kid of course, but have found new pleasure in it as of late. (Divorce has a way of simplifying things, believe it or not). Most of my riding is either in town or on reclaimed rail bed, lots of black top, some crushed lime stone. alittle gravel, and alittle dirt.
I ride a 5-6 year old Trek 4100(nothing fancy but fits my needs.) I have just switched to clipless pedals and am awaiting shoes, ordered a Camalbak HAWG NV today. Also just changed to some Ergo Grips.
I've been lurking in the other threads learning what I can, but wanted too know if anyone had any suggestions about what else (aside from whats covered on the Michigander packing list) on what to have or bring along. Any first ride experiences you wish someone would have warned you about? Any other suggestions at all?
Thanks in advance
