new trail idea - needs help
I want to create / help create a trail that goes from south american countires to north american ones, running right through mexico.
Does anyone know who to get lands set aside for this that haven't been claimed in Mexico?
Would anyone want to help link up existing trails to make a unified north-south one? this could be the GIS mapping or hands on digging or just social networking it.
Would anyone be interested / willing to help with the legal work of asking Mexico about entry / exit requirements being waived / funding and so on? (its kinda a long list of considerations .. )
Would anyone be interested in doing some of the trail creation???
That's an enormous task considering the size of the American Continent. Just crossing Mexico is no less than 2500km.
IMHO, best bet in Mexico should be using existing trails/roads. I remember from one of my jobs that getting right of way in Mexico is a pain in the rear. Mexico is a rather old country and land has been owned for many years.
This is better done through a network of volunteers, I think.
Again, a massive ask and I wish you the best of success.
