Hey, I'm interested in buying a new plus hardtail and I noticed that you have alot of posts on the rsd sergeant forum. Wondering if maybe you can help me decide. I'm between 3 bikes right now. The RSD Sergeant, Norco Torrent 7.1 or a dartmoor hornet. Leaning heavily towards the sergeant. Haven't ridden seriously in about 10 years, but before that I was pretty heavy into the freeride/downhill scene. So looking for something that climbs and decends equally well. Hard to beat the sergeants build quality for the money. Just concerned it won't be as much fun on the downhills. Everyone talks about how well it climbs, not much is said about coming down.
Also wondering about size. I'm 6'2, I talked to Alex and he suggested an xl, or even an xxl if I like my bike " long low and slack" in his words. I noticed that you are on a large, and your 6'.
Any insight would be appreciated, really don't want to make the wrong decision.
    Thanks in advance
    Chad

My brakes are great, thanks! I have always liked my cheapy disc brakes. Plus, living in Houston, I don't really put that much stress on them. :) I did get lube on the back ones, and ended up doing the heat-til-they-smoke method, and they work very well now.

Hello , thanks for the message , nothing i can't try it before buying it , because him give me only frame and fork, i study the geometry and i dont like the big standover of large, the less slooping compared the medium, i have fear that is big.
My Am bike (teocali 2010) is 585 of TT and i feel it perfect, 2,4 cm more of TT i think is a lot..... truly i don't know what to do.

The trouble is not enough attention goes between the shells of a caliper. I have some old juicy's I had to do the lube on, it works!
The worst one I have dealt with required removing the pistons & using spark plug boot dressing AKA spark plug grease on the seals.

What part of CO you in. I used to live up there, still there in my heart (Grand County), Tabernash, etc.. Love that country. Many buds up there. Thanks again for the tip. Will lube the caliper tonight and let ya know.
