I sent it to Cane Creek when I noticed the issue, and they repaired it, but I don't think it was a long-term solution. The guy I spoke with on the phone seemed to indicate that it was something that had not been entirely solved yet. I sold it, went with a DVO Topaz instead (air shock) and haven't looked back.

If you dig around a bit, you'll find a lot of stories about CC shocks, both air and coil, having oil get past the main seal head because the bushing depth is too short, allowing the shock shaft to cant sideways (as we have experienced). It seems to me that it's a fundamental design flaw in their suspension, and I won't be going back to them.

Hi mate I noticed you had trouble last year with a ccdb coil inline shock you said looked to be buckling at the seal head. I have one that appears to be doing the same thing and clunking with the climb switch on. Did you ever resolve this issue? Or did you end up changing shocks? I, like yourself, am dubious as to whether the shock will last with the damper buckling in such a way. How long did yours last?

    Thanks for your help
