No im not sure what the mountain rose rumble is haha, if you don't mind moving around your camp. I'd stay a night or two in Burke, there's a few days of riding there. When are you going to get over this way?

March is fine. I seem to remember March 5th being a long sleeve jersey and maybe tights last year, which I probably took off. Look at adventuresinpisgah.blogspot.com That has a snapshot of two weekends ago. And March would only be warmer than two weeks into January. Heck, I seem to remember the Assault on the Carolinas being held in March or early April. If anything the trails would probably be muddy.

    Chief,

I'm thinking about heading to Pisgah for preseason training, I was wondering how the weather is in march?

    Thanks

There are maybe fiveish main access points to Pisgah Ranger District. They are: This fish hatcheries, black mountain/ the horse stables, Turkey Pen trailhead, Mills River campground, and Bent Creek/ arboredum area. You can access trail networks and complete loops from these areas or arrange point to points from these areas but involving two cars. Keep in mind that several trails are seasonal around the hatchery and one by the horse stables. Important when figuring out loops. Turkey Pens is immediately off of HWY 280 and Mills River area is off of 280 but down North Mills River road. Bent Creek area is generally considered faster and easier and sees more people. Farlow is hard. Steep, And very rocky. Same with Pilot. My advice should easily help to get you started. Mills River has a lot of water as does Turkey Pens. Will need to sterilize. The hatchery has potable water. Good luck. No big deal if you ever need a resource or more advice. Give a shout.

Yeah, I feel bad it turned in a cluster ****. I will, I love the area and trails and thanks for the trail advice. I purchased a map of the area. Can you explain the loops a little better for me? or point to site that has the loop? And thanks again for these trails. I wish there was employment options in the part of the country for me, I would relocate in a minute.
