No,no, not offended in the least! I kind of figured there might be some angle issues, it's just hard being short or height and short on cash, lol. I know I saw a suggestion in your thread about a smaller rim ... might go re-read that, just in case I do want to try something, we have a bike shop that does sell used parts. I know the bike isn't worth much, it's just I have a real attachment to that hunk of metal. I think most people here get that, just have to wrap my brain around maybe just cleaning it up and being happy with that. Thanks for your advice, Lisa

Hi Lisa, Sounds like you've got a case of bike lust, welcome to the club!!! I'm gonna be completely honest with you and please don't be offended. You'd be spending WAY more than your Frontier cost new in 1995 to do a fat front conversion. In additon, the geometry of a bike designed/built in 1995 is not going to play well with the increased height of either the Pugs or Enabler fork and huge front tire. I'd advise you to look around for a more modern frame, something designed to accomodate a 120mm suspension fork (this type of frame will have a slacker head angle) and make that the platform on which you build a fatty This will cost you a few more bucks going in but your ride quality will be improved dramatically. The Frontier can be your trainer/grocery getter/pub bike.
Whatever you decide, enjoy yourself and feel free to give me a shout if you have any other questions.
    Take care, Chris

    Hi,
I really like your half fat inbred. I would like to do the same with one of my bikes. I have a 1995 Schwinn Frontier anniversary edition, 15" frame, 26" wheels. I got it at St. Vinnies (2nd hand store) for 15 bucks. I want to rebuild it, to learn about how bikes works. I really like this bike a lot. I have it parked in my living room, it makes me happy to just look at it, even though it's not rideable yet. My whole house is only 650 sq. ft., so having this bike taking up precious space should tell you it's true love, lol.
I have looked at forks, the Surley pugsley and the Salsa enabler, Larry tire (not sure on wheel). I'm not sure if either would work because of the size of my bike. I was hoping you could maybe give me an opinion, if this is something I can move forward with. I kind of like the enabler fork, I like the water bottle holders. I know that is probably silly, but I like having water handy at all times, kind of a "thing" with me.
    Thanks for your time, Lisa
