    Hi,
For your size I think a size L is better
    I'm a 6' rider
For the stem, go to a 70 mm
The 2x10 shimano XT drivetrain is a very good choice
The RS Revelation is also a good choice
If you can, take a XTR shadow + rear derailleur

anthonylokrn you are the freaking bomb! thanks so much for taking the time to write and your willingness to help. you provided exceptional knowledge and for that i am grateful. looks like with the 150mm fork that will give me the head angle i want so i'll just go with a regular headset. you've also got me thinking about 2X10.....i think i'm going to do it! the only thing i may wait on is the dropper post. i can't tell you how much i appreciate your help and feedback. thank you so much, have a good weekend and hopefully i'll have a new bike in 4-6 weeks and will be sure to post pictures of the final build. i think i'm going to get white, which here in Seattle is going to be a total pain in the butt to keep clean, but i'll probably get the white anyways....have a good weekend, eric

Hope Hoops are awesome for the price if you don't care for high point of engagement...you also get the choice of either Crest or Flow rims. Dropper seatpost are a game changer, lots of options right now with many other ones to be released. I'm currently using the Specialized Command Post Blacklite, but have my eyes on the KindShock Lev once it's released.

Have you also looked at the Pivot Mach 5.7c as well? I believe Pivot's overall build quality is better than the Ibis, but I couldn't deal with the ugly decals or give up the beautiful design of the Ibis. The only qualm I have with the SL-R is that the paint job could have been a little better. Just small details, but mainly the paint at the top of the head tube where the top headset seats is a bit rough.

Good look with the order and feel free to contact me with any questions.

If you decide you don't need to adjust the headangle, then either the Cane Creek 110 or 40 series are perfect. The 110 is a masterpiece indeed. The Angleset comes with a steel crownrace, if you can, order the aluminum crown race that comes with the 110-series. The seal and quality is much better.

I have no experience with Formula brakes, but I did read quite a bit about them. Very strong brakes, but reports stating that they are awesome when they work but a pain when they don't. XT/XTR brakes I've read have been the product of choice for the general population. I have Hope Tech M4/X2 brakeset currently and they have been solid so far.

Saddle is a personal choice, but I love the Specialized lineup, specifically the Henge.

Tubeless is indeed the shiz right now. Very easy to get setup, initially a bit of a learning curve, but a fast process once you are familiar. Going tubeless just add to the already plushness of the SL-R.

Definitely spring for the XTR M985 rear derailleur since it has the chain tension switch, in this case, you probably don't even need a chain guide. XT front derailleur will be fine (weight; no performance difference). Definitely go with the XTR shifters. KMC X10SL chain is much better than Shimano/SRAM. XT cassette is priced very well.

How slack are you looking for your head angle? Keep in mind that on an SL-R using a 150mm Revelation, the head angle will be right around 68.25* using a 0* cup. I currently have mine at 67.75* using a -1* cup and I love it. From what I've read, the gimble knock is due to improper installation. With a bit of finesse, patience, and lots of grease, it can easily be resolved. If you do get the Angleset, and whether you don't need the adjustibility or creaking problem, you can always contact Cane Creek and they will allow you to swap it out for another product (of course paying a difference).

In my experience, I love the Revelation, ultimately the whole RockShox line. The Revelation models that I would choose from are - World Cup > RCT3 > RLT.

RCT3 is basically a heavier version of the World Cup, both has the awesome BlackBox Motion Control that even Darren at Push says it's pretty damn nice. Last years version of the RCT3 was called RLT Ti. Definitely make sure you get the tapered steerer. Go with the Dual Air, don't bother with the Dual Position Air since there have been lots of reported problems.

If you don't need all the gears of a 3x10, then the new 2x10 are freaking nice. Drivetrain is so much smoother and shifts are much crisper with the 2x10. I'm currently using 24-38t chainring and 12-36t cassette and it basically covers all the gears I need.

I've not ridden the Shimano's much, with SRAM, the XO is basically a heavy-duty version of the XX. I believe the X9 is comparable to the XT.

Hey Eric, in regards to the HD vs SL-R, I assume you are eyeing the HD 140? If so, and you don't see yourself ever changing out the limbo for the 160, then the SL-R would be best. Why carry around extra weight when you don't need it? The only benefit I would see for the HD is the threaded bottom-bracket, with the press-fit bb on the sl-r, chain guides are non-existent other than the Bionicon C.Guide which I now love.

The SL-R weight can easily range from 23-27 lbs depending on the build. Do you have the knowledge and experience to build and order all the correct parts yourself? If so, the price to build it yourself will come out quite a bit cheaper than a complete bike unless you go balls out.
