I've got a bike problem and you had an answer in a similar post.

I have an XTR 975 front IS caliper. It says 180F and I've run it on my SID (IS mount) with a 180 rotor. Recently got a new SID and it's post. I went to my LBS and bought the adapter I thought I needed. It's a Shimano and the part number is SM-MA-F180S/P POST.
It's bolted up right (there is only one way to do it). Rotor fits inside the caliper but the caliper is too high. Only 20% of the pads touch the rotor when the lever is pulled.
Any thoughts? It appears like I need a 203mm rotor to make the caliper line up with the pads but it's a 180 caliper and mount.
Sorry if this doesn't make any sense but I can't find a post 975 caliper for less than $130 and I want to ride my new fork. TIA.
