When Maverick licensed the Speedball design to Crank Brothers.

Is anybody out there still running an old Speedball or an early addition Crank Brothers Joplin adjustable seat post. I bought a CB Joplin W/remote back in 08' right after Maverick licensed the design to Crank Brothers. And my early edition Joplin I can only assume is basically the same design as the Maverick Speedball. Because mine has held up all these years without issue but all I hear is bad rep from all later designs of the Joplin from Crank Brothers.

How about it does anybody know if this is the case. Mine being an early edition Joplin has held up because it is CB first attempt at an adjustable seat post design and the first edition Joplin was basically a Speedball re-badged.

CB Licensed it. Maverick did not sell it to CB. PT still 'owns it'.

I have a late '04/early '05 Speedball that is fantastic to this day.

CB added a few small bits to the OG Mav design, but more or less it is still the same thing.

PT is now working with Xfusuion and the HiLo SL has some Maverick stuff.

Thanks that explains it's longevity compared to the later Joplin designs. Who is PT you lost me.

I have a couple of speedball, the older one is 6 years old. No issues ... periodically serviced, torx screws checked, Oring changed ... never had to change the brass guide. Finally, a good product with a minimum of attention.

Thanks for the info and that explains the rare longevity of my early Joplin. Which is basically a Speedball rebadged.
