    I'm about to buy a ML7

What should I look out for? The damper is never serviced, so I proably need to do that, Anything else? The owner is asking 550 euro's for it.

    good:
+ updated monolink (bb slightly forward, not middle, worth $$)
    + anodised

    bad:
    - worn monolink bearings (but only few $ to repair)
    - banged chainstays ($$)
    - chain-slap has worn chainstays close to crank ($$)
    - worn damper bushings (unlikely, but only few $ to repair)
    - threads in monolink botched ($$)

Is matte black ano or paint? Not sure on the ML though, and the bearings are just replaced.

Someone wants the shock of my fuel, that's 100 euros, now to sell the forks and frame, then I'll have enough money to buy it, damn credit crisis.
EDIT: Sold the shock and a rear roadie wheel, current money counter: 155 euros.

That is the old one. I have a 2001 ML7 and I upgraded to the newer alloy version about a year ago. The difference is night and day. You do have to factor in the wider bottom bracket (73mm alloy, 68mm mag) and a new front derailleur since the XTR M950/2 E Type doesn't work as well on the new alloy monolink. Get the D Mount and Shimano R773, Ethan usually stocks these and can set you up with everything you'll need (his email address is all over a bunch of the Maverick forum threads).

Two days ago, I bought that 2004 ML7, Ethan, do you know anything about a Nonferous ML7? No problems with shifting here though, but that's dry and I've didn't ridden through the mud yet!
