    Weekly Freetown Forest Ride!

So Comp94 and I hit Freetown earlier this week and decided to make it a weekly ride.

If anyone else wants to go, we'll be meeting at the main parking lot at the ranger station at 5:30 every Monday. We'll do an hour and a half to two hours depending on daylight, at a moderate pace.

If you're interested, post up in this thread, and we'll see you there!

Unfortunately tomorrow's ride is off. Neither Comp or I can make it tomorrow.

Next week should be a go, but I'll be sure to keep this thread updated with any changes.

I was able to get out to Freetown SF al little later and what an awesome ride. I ended up doing just over 12 miles of rocky technical single track mixed in with some fire roads. There is on section called the demotivator and its just a giant rock garden about 50 yards long and it beats me up everytime. I can only make it about 1/3 the way trough maybe one of these days ill make it from one end to the other without bikepcaking it at all. people tell me that if you can ride here you can ride just about anywhere. Hopefully we can get a few more people out there next Monday night.

That's cool, glad you got to get out there! I think I know the section you're talking about, what a bear that is.

I've ridden other rocky trails, but the Freetown trails have their own brand of misery when it comes to rocks.

With that in mind I think I'm going to start calling that place Freetown Rock City (as in the Kiss song Detroit Rock City).

I'm going to try to ride there today after work since I couldn't make Monday.

We finally made it out on a Monday, and the weather couldn't have been better.

We did just over 11 miles and it was a great ride.

Also, this weekend (SUNDAY) is the SE-MASS "Super 8" series ride at Freetown.

Spark BRS will be there - with IBIS Bikes to demo. Pre-register for an IBIS Demo before going to the event!
