    Week in Boston

I will be in Boston on June 12 - 17. Staying in the downtown area with no car, just my bike. Any advise on trails near the area would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, you can really get to good stuff without a car. Check out dieselbikes.com and their rides (weekedays and weekends)

Are you staying with someone familiar with the public transportation system?
You can take the redline train toward the Blue Hills, then road ride a mile or 2 to get to the trails. MBTA allows bikes non peak. Blue Hills are in Quincy/Milton/Canton towns which abut Boston. Nice skyline views and the highest vertical in the area. You can also get near enough to Lynn Woods using public transportation. Check the NEMBA board for group rides.

    Middlesex Fells

You could try the "Fells." You can take the red line to Davis Square in Somerville (don't miss Redbones BBQ when you're there!) and ride the 2-3 miles to the Fells, which is in Medford. There's a 6-7 mile mountain biking loop which is fantastic.

    Here's some information:

okay...we made it to teched....and rented some nice full suspension bikes.

Our plan is to RIDE from Copley square to Middlesex Fells. We love urban riding, but dont want to detour through the wrong hoods.

Does anybody know the best way (or a good one) to get to Medford by bike?

    Cheers Eric
