Any reports on Otis? I'm looking to head down on Sunday with my 29er with regular tires. Is there snow on the ground there?

No Ski today - so I Ride
Trying to post iphone 4S photos for you with little luck.
To answer your question before the Otis Crew kicks in, most of the Cape has 2-4 inches of wind-blown blower "cold smoke' snow. Not very heavy, but the snow's (getting) "old"...best riding for me has been off the beaten path of the Big 3 and the recon for freshies. Seen few MTB tracks, but it's been a little chilly, as of late.

Been catching a FREEZING 1-2 hours each day since the last storm with Studs.
Sorry to say, IMHO, without studs, I would'nt ride...Just one Man's Opinion, I'm sure others will beg to differ. I'll try to update "Cape Report" with Pics, however.... that remains to be (un)seen :skep:

Can you ride studless, hell Ya !!! The snows cold & light, but pure ice patches here & there, hurt like hell when I hit the ground and are enough of a threat to keep the metal on.

Hope this is a little insight for ya. Be nice if you I could just text a messege with photos...oh well, head hurts, almost time to "Gear Up" it's nice and sunny,10 degrees w/stiff breeze, Ya Baby !

I don't know about the trails, but 90% of the snow is gone south of Boston. I'm going attempt to ride Wompatuck this weekend. Trails should be in decent shape.

Yesterday Lowell-Dracut was in very nice shape, a little snow in shadowed parts, minimal ice on the trail, and some trails bone dry as summer and dusty. Today LLF was in pretty similar shape. I would imagine Harold-Parker would be much the same.

I expect Monday to be an excellent riding day, and the rest of the week a craps shoot, depending on the mix of snow/sleet/rain we get.

Great snow riding conditions....1in layer of packed snow over frozen dirt through out. Did 23 miles in there this afternoon.

As stated above the trails were in great shape. I kept waiting to lose traction, but it didn't happen all day. Hopefully with this weeks weather ( snow followed by rain, followed by warms temps, followed by freezing) the trails will be good to go for next weekend...

@ JSumner- I was in the crew chugging up Goat Hill as you guys ( and Sammie) were cruising down. Great day to be out!

Awesome! Sure was a great day to be out there. Agreed, this forecast is looking to provide some really good conditions next weekend. Let's hope the warm temps mid-week clear the snow out.

Rode Cutler park yesterday morning with sunshine and temps in the teens. Trails are in good shape - a dusting of snow on grippy, frozen dirt. Looks like the warm weather coming our way will soften things up for a little bit. I hope to get out again this week.

Too wet to ride around metrowest today. It's a mucky swamp in my backyard, so I'd imagine the trails will need a few dry days and some sun before they are good to go again.

Agreed with it being too wet. Too much damage to trails would be had by rutting them all up. They should freeze up this weekend so I just hope all the water gets off of them by then.

No riding or trail work today in this area. Let's let everything freeze up again before getting out there.

Back into the 20s overnight, so as you were. Hit the trails while they're hard! Should be a great weekend to ride everywhere in the valley - a little ice, a little snow, and lots of frozen hard-pack.

No more snow down here on the Southcoast and Cape. Should be frozen solid tomorrow morning. Great riding conditions for Saturday. Forecast calls for some snow sat night, hopefully not much.

Conditions were once again fantastic today in Uxbridge. The ground was frozen solid. Congrats though to the bone heads who decided to ride the Wolf Hill/West Hill Dam areas during the thaw and cause about 10 miles of trail damage. We followed your frozen, 3in deep tire marks for a good portion of our ride today. Other than that.....great ride!

Rutland SP is mostly clear. Not a lot of ice, but enough to make me put the studs on. It was nice to be able to ride in the woods again, but I'd rather be skiing them. It's winter after all!

The Trout Brook Reservation (Holden) trails are clear of snow. Some ice patches along the way--good to have studs.

It's definitely stud time - at least out that direction. I hit the ground hard in Rutland today riding one of the dirt roads - very icy. The singletrack that I hit was all good and ridable, but I won't go back without studs.

Wompatuck was good yesterday. Did about 17 miles and the light 1/2" of snow was virtually unnoticeable. Plenty to grip.

Hey, wondering about Otis. A buddy says they got 2-3 inches in Chatham, we have no snow here in Westport, Falmouth is smack in between. Anyone know what Otis looks like?
