    Sturbridge area

So I found a really good BBQ place in the Sturbridge area and a really good brewery in Brimfield. Now, I'm trying to find a good place to ride some singletrack in that general area to justify a road trip down there from Southern NH for the 3 Bs (Beer, BBQ and Biking).

Wells State Park and Brimfield State Forest seem to be logical options nearby, but are they worth my time?

Check out the trails behind the Charlton Street School in Southbridge ( maybe 10 or so minutes from BT's Bar B Q in Sturbridge!). Park behind the school by the football field. The trail starts above the rock outcropping to the right. Probably 8+ miles of mtb specific singletrack, which was recently leaf blown. Makes for a VERY fun ride

did a 50 miler once that started in Sturbridge and ended in Mansfield ct via the nipmuck trail and a lap of the ole briarlee race course which was on the way. killer ride! I was definitely ready for the other 2 b's at the end. pretty techy 50 miles.

Thanks for the info! I may even consider driving all the way out to Holyoke and then come back through Brimfield and Sturbridge for the beer and BBQ.

All this and you don't even ask me? That's it, dude. We're FIGHTING.

I grew up two towns away - would very happily arrange a day of this.

I guess you missed the FB conversation about this. I hope to make a road trip that way at some point for Tree House Brewing Co. and BT's. If I can work in a ride to counteract the other two Bs, then that would be great.

You should hit up Highland brewery right down the road from BT's. FYI

Thanks for the tip! Tree House Brewing Co is a special place. Only open on Saturdays for growler fills. If I head down there on a different day, then Highland will be on my agenda.

Is the the Jr. High the school on the right leaving Sturbridge and the HS the school on the left? So parking wise & trail entry, you'd find the bball courts behind the school on the right, yes?
