Robinson State Park Trail Work - Saturday June 12th

On Saturday June 12th, PVNEMBA will be doing trail work at Robinson State Park in Agawam, MA.

    Projects include:
    • Erosion Control
    • Bridge Construction
    • Pruning
    • Rock Work

    Here are the details:
    Time - 8:30 ~ 12:30
Location – Meet just inside the Main Gate on North St. Entry will be free if you mention you are doing trail work.
Weather - This event will go off in any reasonable weather. Severe weather will cancel.
Tools - I will have many tools with me, but the main tools needed will likely be shovels, iron-rakes and regular-rakes. Please bring what ever you can and be sure to bring Gloves.
Other Stuff - You may like to bring bug spray, food, water, and eye protection.

Please RSVP if you can. There are multiple work locations, so if we have enough people, some may be asked to meet in a different location.

And, riding after is an option, for anyone interested.

    Thanks! Steve

Weather isn't looking so great for riding. What's bad for riding is great for trail maintenance though! Who's bringing the donuts?

How so? I would hate working in a thunderstorm or heavy down pours..

Water behavior is best observed when there's water. A great deal of trail maintenance consists of water control.

Oh yeah. Forgot that erosion control needed to be worked on.

If they don't bang this out in one day, I would gladly pitch in some other time.

    Thank You!

Thanks for coming out today! We had a good sized group and got some great work done.

    Work completed:
    - Painted and installed a prefabbed bridge. Looks great!
    - FIVE large Rolling Grade Dips on a heavily erroded/bermed trail.
    - One very large nic.
    - Built a 15'-20' ridable rock causeway/dam with outflow/rock bridge.

Estimate of about 70 combined hours of actual working time!

    Thanks again!!! Steve

This was just one trail. The work our trails need is endless.

Let me know when you want to come out and we can knock something else off the list.
