    PV NEMBA - People's Epic #2

The second 2012 People's Epic, of the three part series, will go off this Sunday, August 5th at 8:30am

People’s Epic #1 went down in the history books last weekend. A hearty group of riders enjoyed a pretty long ride on the infamously technical Batchelor Street trails.

With Round 1 behind us, we are now looking forward to round number 2. This Sunday, People’s Epic #2 will take place on the fast flowy fun trails of Robinson State Park in Agawam (plus some ridge riding). The ride will start from my house in Agawam at 8:30am. We will ride west through Robinson for a couple of hours, then head South on pavement for about 2+ miles, climb up onto the rocky M&M ridge and ride it North, then back east through Robinson.

Post ride pizza will be provided by PV NEMBA.
Everyone should bring something to add to the post ride feed.

    Details...
    Date: August 5, 2012 Sunday
    Time: 8:30 – Wheels down at 8:45
Location: 27 George St , Agawam
Parking: On the lawn. Packem in tight
What to expect: ~4 hours at an intermediate pace. This ride will be fairly long, but very attainable for intermediate riders. Waiting at all turns. No drops. Water available at the mid point.
What you need: Trail food to sustain you for four hours. Water to cover half that time. Helmet. Bike. And a fancy smile!

This ride is replacing the once famous Mere Mortal Epic. In the spirit... snacks will be provided along the way, so a head count will be helpful.
The Mere Mortal Meander Epic --- PLUS!!!!!!

Any questions, drop me an email or ask here.

Hope to see lots of folks on Sunday!
    Steve

If you didn't build the trail, don't mess with it.

    Great ride today!!!
22 Riders, plus Boomer the dog. Just over 26 Miles. No rain, but some serious humidity (and heat). Boomer made it a little over half and, with the lack of water out there to lay-in and drink, the heat was too much for her. First ride she has ever had to bail on in 5 years.
Most ate a donut prior to the ride, in the spirit of the "Expert Challenge", and everyone agreed it was a big mistake! The donut made for a very tough first hour+. The pool at the end was a highlight! Rain held until we were nearly done with pizza. Fun time!!!
7 riders still in the money for completing all three People's Epics!
The 3rd (and final) People's Epic will be in Greenfield on the 26th. Should be another great ride! Hope you can make it. Steve
