Lynn Woods Trail Maintenance Day (Saturday: June 4th)

On Saturday June 04, 2005, Dieselbikes will be holding a Trail Maintenance day in Lynn Woods. This trail day has been approved by the Lynn Woods Park Management. Saturday will begin phase one of repairing the Bow Ridge Trail Network. We require 15 volunteers (or more) to complete the job on Saturday. Here is what you need to know:

    Start Time and Meeting Place:

Everyone should meet at the ball field parking lot (Great Woods Road Entrance) between 9:30am and 9:55am. We will be leaving the parking lot at 10:00 to head to the job site.

    Estimated Project Time:

We accept this project to take 3 hours to complete. Once complete, we will ride for the rest of the day!!!

    What to Bring:

Bring your own food, water, pair of work gloves and your bike!

What WE are going to do:

The map below shows the job site area. The Trail that leads from Bow Ridge to the Wolf Pits has deteriorated due to persistent water running down the Trail. This water shall be redirected off of the Trail by installing a PVC pipe and trenching a new path. In conjunction with this effort, the Trail will be armored with (available) rock to create a suitable trail base for all users of the park.

This is a major project with will ultimately leaded into the building of a Ladder Bridge to span the flooded area at the base of this Trail.

Tools will be provided for this work day. Please PM Pusk (bustedspoke ID name) or e-mail me frankd@dieselbikes.com if you need further information.

Tomorrow begins our third Trail Project in Lynn Woods. This is a big project and any help will be appreciated.

Many other trail days are happening throughout New England including racing, but if Lynn Woods is a local spot for you to ride, come out and help for a few hours.
