    Hunter-free places to ride. Groton?

Personally I am curious about Groton Ma, I know hunting is allowed in general. However I have never seen them at GTF. How about Anaconda, Sledgehammer, Boom Box etc? Anyone ride in Groton during the week? See any hunters?

Some hunter-free places I know off...

    Oakhill/Trophet Chasm
Bolton Ma (no hunting, except for Bolton Flats which is basically a shooting range but itís a swamp with no good riding anyways)
    Callahan
    Great Brooks Farm
    Russell Mills

    Add to the list...

Everywhere, once the sun goes down.

FWIW, I've been riding during hunting season for ages and I don't see what the big deal is. Slap on a bunch of orange and have at it.

Yeah I have been riding in the fall for years not giving it a second thought, I have only seen a handful of hunters with no incidents. Donít know why but recently I have been giving riding where hunters are a second thought.

So I put on some bright clothing yesterday and rode Anaconda, no hunters. However I heard a tree rub against another and for a split second there I thought it was someone pulling a bow. Stopped looked around and sure enough there were no hunters up in tree stands.

Sweet trail for sure! Can't wait to check out the rest of the trails in Groton. You can tell the leaves were blown on some of the trail but the wind has pretty much covered it back up in most places.

I do try to avoid dawn and dusk riding at some places during shotgun season, but for the most part, I try not to let if affect my riding.

I know some hunters don't like bikers in the woods making all sorts of racket during the season (this is supposedly why the 'Gun Club' trail in Leo was posted closed a number of years back according to a member of Sportsman's Club there), but I've talked to a few hunters I know that actually like it when bikers are out there. Said it keeps the deer moving around rather than hunkering down for the day.

Was out in Stow Town Forest(STF) in late afternoon and saw 2 hunters along the Assabet River up in their tree stands .......have heard the same as "slapheadmofo" regarding some hunters not minding the bikes out keeping the deer moving....
There are two paths you can go by but in the long run........

Rode past a guy in the woods of Vietnam the other day who was carrying a cross bow.
Kind of surprised me. Middle of the day, and for some reason I was thinking it was a hunter free zone. But I did confirm that hunting is allowed in there.

Went out again there over the weekend, and only saw bikers and hikers.
