On the hunt for rides in Chatham!

Looking for rides I can do from my family's house in Chatham on my fatbike. So far some beaches and conservation land:

Next place to ride to is Hawksnest State Park and Nickerson State Park.

Any insight would be appreciated! In the meantime I will learn the hard way!

I prefer the Nat'l seashore lands just east of the bike path/powerlines in North Eastham and Wellfleet. There is a parking spot on the south side of Nauset road in N. Eastham right near where the bike path crosses (next to the gravel pit). I can't figure out how to link to a google maps spot, but if you copy and paste these coordinates into google maps it'll bring you to the spot.

Head north from there and just take any of the singletracks heading east. The trails continue north past Marconi beach and all the way up to the Gull Pond area. There are lots of dirt roads and singletracks. There are no markings or maps, but you can always head west back to the powerlines/bike path if you need to bail. Great mix of old dirt lanes and singletrack. You can put together some epic rides here if you throw in a little pavement and beach riding, we've never gotten to the "end" of the trails, just turn back when we start running out of time or energy.

Hawksnest? I googled it and came up with a place in Virginia??

Nickerson is fun, tricky to navigate, but once you figure it out there are good loops. Probably more fun on a regular MTB, but ride what ya brung.

Also, check out Great Island on Wellfleet. Make sure you ride this one at low tide though, many areas are inaccessible at high tide.

Huh, just saw Hawksnest on google maps. It exists according to Google, but the state apparently doesn't acknowledge its existence. Odd, maybe not really a state park, but a town property?

On the hunt for rides in Chatham!

From what I read it is "not funded, nor maintained" by the state.
