Most Giant dealers should be able to help you out. Go to Giant's site to find a dealer closest to you. It's a good time to buy, most shops are trying to unload their 2011 stock. Good luck!

Cycling concepts in Rocky Hill CT had a few a couple weeks ago. I almost bought one in large, but went Flash 2 29er instead (the Anthem was a 29er as well)

yeah, tried that...not many dealers, and not having any luck. they have an XL in the Boston store, but surprisingly the cockpit felt big and long, and I'm 6'2" with a 34 inseam...i feel like a large will do me right

I'm the same size and the large fit me. If you are in central MA the drive to Rocky Hill wouldn't be too bad

that's good to know..i was surprised at how big the XL felt, but....

yeah i'm around Boston, but will travel, i guess...maybe.

Anyone have any other good 29er suggestions around that same price point (really want to keep it close to 2K).

I ride a Spesh Enduro now, and looking for a more XC/trail lighter 29er for local trails (probably FS, as not sure my body can take HT anymore?)

Just curious...Why do you prefer the 2011 over the 2012?

Not my post but the 2011 have Fox suspension compared to 2012 with Sram. I would much rather have a 2011 just for that reason.
The frames remain identical other than cosmetic changes.

Thanks, I am just getting back into riding after 10 years and looking at the same bike. My LBS has both the 2011 x3 and 2012 x2 in L and wants 2400.00 for each even though it is the outgoing season and doesnt negotiate either. I didnt know besides the fox shox if there was a big difference.
In your opinion does the SRAM outweigh the lack of the fox shox in 2012?

BTW im in VA and as of 4 days ago the bike was in the store if your still looking.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread

STARRY, I am sorry, I indicated that I would prefer a 2012 over a 2011. I misspoke. I would much rather have a 2011 with Fox suspension rather than the 2012 with Rockshox suspension.
I just feel Fox offers more quality for the money. FYI, I live in Utah and have 3 friends that have picked up their Anthem X3s 29ers for 1800.00 out the door.

    Congrats Bud!
I have started my own mission to find the x3 in VA from a place that will negotiate...
