I drove by today and looked up a few trails. There is still about 3-4 inches of snow right near the forest station. My guess is there is a hard pack frozen base from snow shoe and boot travel. I do not think it will be good to go until we have a stretch of milder temps followed by a dry stretch.

I am itching to get out there but we need to let the trails cure!

Intel from a ride last night indicates that there are still a few sections (maybe 10% of the trails) with snow to get-through (walk), but have otherwise heard that the trails in many sections are in good shape. Weekend forecast shows night-time temps hovering at freezing, and daytime temps upwards of 40-50. Tough call, this time of year, a freeze/thaw is a good recipe for rutted mess. Maybe let the trails ripen up for one more weekend.
On another note, I hear that if you go further south, places like Freetown, Massasoit, and pretty much everything in RI are in great shape, as is the Cape.

I walked up some of the trails on the outskirts of the forest and all looked free of snow and dry. My guess is as C.P. said still pockets of snow and wet areas. I am going to ride it tomorrow and if it is not "ripe" I will cease and desist.

Foxboro is in surprisingly good shape. Rode the entire park. Very little water or mud. The loops are newly blazed and there is some re-route of the back loop. Lot of riders out yesterday.
