I just wanted to give a shout out to my 2012 XM8, which on recent 27 mile mountainous rocky desert circuit made me look good. Converted to tubeless it climbs unbelievably well even on loose rocks. Just kept my butt on the nose of the saddle and spun up things many others were hiking. On a rocky singletrack with a series of ragged step downs it just flew over everything with a ton of energy to pop off lips. A ton of fun.
The only downside from that ride is that a rock took out two of the middle numbers on the serial number sticker on the BB-- which may complicate things if I ever need warranty service Should have written it down somewhere first.
