how would you classify the quad xc (mount vision)?

It seems burly enough to be an XC bike, does it fall into the all mountain category?

been wondering for the longest time.

to me, the MV is more XCish with a fiar amount of travel (if you're talking about the stock bike).

We pimp TBC's --- they have the Covert. pretty pimp bike, along the same line as the Marin MV. sure, you can also call it all mountain but that's just some silly name someone came up with to define hard-core XC bikes.

Thanks for that! I wasn't sure how far I can push the MV. Hehe! I guess it can hold up.

I've got an oldy but a goody. 2002 Rock Springs. Bought it from the MTBR classified in 2002 from some fella that rode it a few times then wanted to unload it for some reason. It was essentially new for me and about $500 off retail. Great deal considering I've been riding it consistently since then! Going on seven years now and only minimal complaints. Mostly just some movement in the rear at speed but his is problematic of most single pivots. Other than that, the TARA setup works great, even though I rarely use it and even at the highest travel setting it climbs like a goat as long as I've got the legs.

Replaced the spring in the fork at about year two or three because it snapped in two and put on some other add-ons last year such as stem, headset, handlebars, and seat post but mostly just ran it stock. Love it and really have no reason to buy another bike yet other than the luxury of having something new and a bit more advanced. The rest of you seem to have some of those new fancy quad-link designs. Pretty. Next fix is the drivetrain. You could only imagine the shape its in after 7 years of punishment. Luckily I ride mostly desert so not as bad as riding in constantly muddy conditions. So without further ado, here's my baby:

Be sure to get her some shin guards too. Flats like that can mince a shin real quick for a beginner, especially if she's the daring type. Looks good! Hopefully it doesn't do what my wife's bike does and collect dust....

Very nice! How do you like Fox 36 with 160mm on WR? Can't tell if it's Float or TALAS. You like the tall front end?

    Its a VAN.
The ride seems okay i was worried it was gonna corner like a chopper but it seems pretty nimble.

My new frame and swapped over parts. Mount vision 5.8 frame.

What do you guys think of the white fork? I didn't realize the frame was cream and silver. I didn't have a choice of what color frame to get anyways.

edit: Ok, well after I posted these I can tell it is hard to see the true cream clor of the frame.

maybe you can see the difference in this pic. You can also see how there are no "welds" on the head tube it is the same on the seat tube also, but not on the swing arm or linkage mount. From what I understand the welds aren't sanded down like on a Cannondale, but rather they are filled and smoothed. Eitherway it does look pimp. I just wish the entire bike was done like that.

Man, I am freaking out cause I cant go ride this afternoon. The family is doing all the Mother's Day stuff. Hopefully soon enough my wife will be a MTBer too. She wants to get a bike this summer. Stoked!
